A good series of books ta read for A/state are the 'City' book series by Darren O'shaunassy. All of them are based in a film noir setting with a mystical back plot, involving Incas......

Book 1 : Ayuamarca
Book 2: Hells Horizon

They are apparently out of print at the mo, butkeep an eye out.

PS Pacau Wami is a good template for serial killers and assassins across many game systems.

The Harry potter and da vinci code are grate book and they won Best seller award.
